When you can't afford organic...

Fresh fruit and veggies are so important to our diets and these days with so many chemicals and pesticides being used organic is always best. Unfortunately not everyone's budget can stretch that far. However that doesn't mean we have to give in and consume  our fruit and veg with a dose of extra nasties!

Here is a quick and inexpensive way to wash your supermarket fruit and veg, getting rid of those nasties and as an added bonus will prevent pre-mature ripening meaning they last longer and you have less wastage! Winning :-)

Ingredients:

10 drops doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil

1 cup raw apple cider vinegar

Method:

Fill your sink with cool water and add your essential oil and vinegar. Pop your fruit and veg in the sink and allow to soak for 5 -10 mins. Give them a good wash with a soft cloth and then rinse under clean water and allow to air dry. Viola!

doTERRA Lemon essential oil is fantastic at cleansing and purifying and is known to breakdown petrochemicals. As a certified pure therapeutic grade oil it is safe for internal use and can even be used to flavour your cooking. Don't be scared to give this recipe a try - it really will help your budget stretch that little bit further! In Australia one bottle of lemon essential oil has a wholesale cost of $13.50 (around $0.05 per drop).
